Google raid

Old article/interview
You Only Win Some: While Weller achieved great critical success with the film Stonewall, he has also had some "big disappointments" in Hollywood. "I had this great character in Coyote Ugly and now you can only see it on the DVD in the cut scenes," he says. "My role in Armageddon is another sad story-I was entirely cut out of it. Though apparently if you are watching it on video and you have a frame-by-frame feature you can see me."

HA, I have seen the deleted scenes and I watched Armageddon, hawk-eyed, and squeed a bit. Read the rest HERE

*Adorable excerpt from new Mary interview...
We knew each other a little before, though not very well. It’s unusual but we are just very similar to our characters. Even our relationship is very similar because we give each other a really hard time (laughs). It’s a very brother-and-sister relationship and I tease him mercilessly ... he puts on these retainers between takes, and he’s constantly checking himself on the mirror. He’s really the girl, and I am the boy. But we have a nice friendship and I have become the godmother to his baby girl.

LOL.

I just now realized I didn't post these, and with the slow news time I figured it'd be fun to take a stroll down memory lane. Sigh, less than 9 months to go.

New old picture / Streetcar reading

In relation to this article

D.E.A.D

Also, Wildsound has finally put up the reading and Q&A videos for Streetcar if you're interested. Dial up beware, and the audio is a little low so you might wanna turn up your volume. If you want to see just Fred, in the Q&A video skip about 3/4 of the way in (quicktime doesn't show time) HERE

'Missing Persons' episodes online

Like many, if not all, of Fred's newer fans, I'd never seen his older stuff, mainly old and canceled TV, so I went searching. I first found screencaps, but then I one upped myself, episodes! Clear, pretty episodes! The show leaves...much to be desired and I find it odd watching a crime show with beepers( I was only two when the show came on, cut me some slack ). Despite Fred looking like a gorgeous 17-year-old at 27, it is close to mind numbing(Though I found it funny, Doakes, Sara Sidle, and Marshall Mann all working together).

Anyways, if you live in the UK you're in luck, you won't have to go through any trouble, but if you're in the US you'll need to do a few things. Since ITV only allows their site to be viewed from UK IPs you'll need to set up a proxy, which I'll tell you how to do at the end of this post for those who don't know.

WATCH THE EPISODES HERE! ( and please note these episodes up now will only be up for 20 to 30 more days, so watch while you can! )

How to set up a proxy
*This is firefox3 specific but I'm sure that IE is similar*

- Find a UK proxy (ISP and port. google 'uk proxy' or try here you may need to try a few before finding one that will work)
- Go to tools-> options-> advanced-> network-> connection-> settings
- Check 'Manual Proxy Configuration' and put the ISP into the 'http proxy' box and port into the 'port' box.
- click OK and go to the site/episode you want.

It may take a second to show up and sometimes you need to refresh a couple times, but with the right proxy it will work. And, there are two commercials before the episode and 4 between each of the 4 parts, if it's anymore you'll need to reload. When you're done, simply go back through tools to your connections tab and select 'No Proxy'.

Happy Watching!

IPS Recap: To Serge with Love

30+ Enjoy.

Also, no real news to update. There are reviews, most of which are not too Fred friendly. Those can frankly suck it. If you want to read what critics who spend all day with their nose in the air and a thumb up their ass say, just google 'Fred Weller As You Like it' and sift.

If anyone went and has a story/some thoughts of their own, I'd love to hear/post. Just email me(it's in the description ->)

More 'As You Like it' performance photos

:Smacks self for not finding these until now:

The rest here

My partner in Fred-crime also observed that this blog is very very toned down, and anyone knows me or has seen my LJ will agree, but if I spent every post squeeing you would never be able to figure out what the hell I was trying to say.

EDIT:

Also a whole bunch, albeit lesser quality but still FRED, here

New Interview(07.23.08)

Here

Frederick Weller is at something of a turning point in his career: he’s beginning to be recognized by cops, cashiers and people on the street. The reason why the striking 36-year old actor is getting such public recognition is his appearance on the new hit series "In Plain Sight," which successfully debut this past June on the USA Network. On the show he plays a whack-out U.S. Marshall who with his partner (played by Mary McCormack) assist those in the Witness Protection Program.

I think Fred is a different age in every interview I read. Say it with me kids, 42(No shame in it when you look like that!) And aside from that, his recognition of absolutely deserved.

"As You Like it"/rehearsal pictures

I stumbled upon these thanks to insomnia.

The reaction to this picture alone was the exact definition of a 'Wellergasm'. I hope you know what you do to us, Fred. And keep doing it.

In Plain Sight renewed for a second season!

(A couple days old, yes, but Fred related and amazing. People wouldn't watch if not for Marshall.)

IN PLAIN SIGHT, USA Network’s newest original scripted series, will return for a second season with series star Mary McCormack (“The West Wing,” “Private Parts”) returning. The series, created/written/executive produced by David Maples (“Home Improvement,” “Huff”) and executive produced by Paul Stupin (“Dawson’s Creek,” “Beautiful People”), has been given a 16-episode order and will start production in October. IN PLAIN SIGHT will once again be shot entirely on location in and around Albuquerque, NM. The announcement was made today by Jeff Wachtel, executive vice president, USA original programming & co-head, original programming, Universal Cable Productions.

Also, tonight's performance of As You Like it was once again canceled. Here's to hoping weather permits tomorrow!

Article and Interview Archive

The whole reason I decided to make this blog was to get the word out about Fred. His career includes so, so much more than just Marshall Mann(though, Marshy will always be in my heart) and in order to find anything out you'd have to spend a good amount of time on google, which I've done and compiled a list of what I've found. As if you ever needed a reason to love Fred even more, which I never think is possible, then he amazes me, here are about a billion reasons from his own mouth.(And, I was mentioned on the Commonwealth's rehearsal blog, and considering I only started this blog on the 22nd, it's an awesome thing to see!)

Weller in Boston

Currently, Fred is starring as Orlando in the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's production(the summer tradition also known as Free Shakespeare) of "As You Like it", directed by Steven Maler. His wife, Ali Marsh, plays Celia, the closest friend of his character's love interest.

A few articles have been written, both in which Fred is interviewed. A picture and article where he talks mostly about his character here(Broadway and TV actor Fred Weller comes to Boston for Shakespeare’s sake) and a more lengthy one, the article itself talks briefly about Azalia and also a thought on In Plain Sight, here(Class reunion)

The show (which is totally free) started on July 18th and will run through August 3rd at the Boston Common Parkman Bandstand, then at Springfield Forest Park from August 8th to the 10th. More info can be found here at the Commonwealth's website.
